Have you ever touched your intake manifold after driving your vehicle? Have you ever noticed how hot it is? Your engine generates heat as a by-product of combustion so this cannot be avoided however; you reduce the heat being transferred to your intake components.

Using a thermal gasket between the intake runners and cylinder head can help to dissipate the heat being transferred to the intake manifold. This reduces the temperature of the ambient air entering the intake manifold.
